The trek begins in the lower Langtang Valley and continues through forests and Tibetan villages. This region was important to trading with Tibet and is still reflected in the character of the villagers.  During part of the trek you will walk through the National Park. Wildlife is never easy to spot in a forest setting; however, there are chances for you to spot some interesting animals and birds.

The trek continues to Kyangjin Gompa (3,740 m) which is home to the Yala Cheese Factory. There are several small lakes scattered behind Yala and are worth a visit.  There are numerous places for views of pastures as well as glaciers along the way.
