Langtang is a narrow valley that lies just south of the Tibetan border. It is sandwiched between the main Himalayan range and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. The Langtang region combines remote valleys with high mountain lakes.
These treks are popular since they are accessible directly from Kathmandu and do not require flights to other starting points. There are many opportunities to pass through Sherpa villages, sample local yak cheese and experience local culture. From the beautiful gorges and rhododendron forests in the Langtang National Park, to the glacial ice flutes at Gyangchempo, this region is full of spectacular scenery!
